Hurt/Comfort Big Bang

I've received a few messages asking about the hurt/comfort bigbang and if it we will be making another attempt at it. Previously, when I was working on the community, RL threw a few curve balls and I lost my computer at the time. It took awhile for me to get another one but by the time that I had, there were other things that just became so overwhelming that I didn't think of anything online.

Since life has stabilized here (*crosses fingers*), I want to try to get this going for a complete and successful season. But in doing so, I would like to find two new co-mods to work with me on this so that if I, or anyone else is running behind on getting a specific post up or answer questions, there is someone available that can jump in.

I created a new email address for the community so questions can also be directed there as it goes directly to my phone. The new address is listed on the community profile here and on the new header image on the comm layout.

I am currently reviewing prospective dates for the challenge as well as other details. If you are interested in working with me as a co-mod, please reply to this entry (all comments are screened) with what you are willing and able to offer in your assistance.

Summary (50-75 words, give or take. Not very strict here but try to make it good *g*)

Again, my apologies for everything. I hadn't planned on real life to blow up in my face like it had this month. In short, if you wish to know what happened, I first lost a dear pet in the beginning of the month. Work is giving me the runaround about the transfer that they wanted for me to do and I was more than eager for. Another pet, only 4 weeks old died. Cousin #1 is 18, pregnant, and trying to get married. Cousin #2 is in the hospital with unknown but likely immuno-related disorder. The doctors still don't know anything except she is in bad shape.

So...if you want to bail on the BigBang because I haven't kept up with the schedule as I wished, I do not blame you but I thought I would just share just how effed up things are here for me but I am going to bend over backwards to get back in the game myself.

How is everyone doing so far? The first check in is coming up in about two weeks...off topic real quick, I have a baby rat tickling me like all hell here LMAO!

If you would like to share a snippet of your story, you are more than welcome to do so! Try to keep your snippets between 100 and 150 words and utilize the snippet tags when you submit your entries :)

Okay so - latest update...This entry is public to let everyone and new visitors be aware. The members list is going to be gone through over the next couple days by myself and a volunteer participant. Only those signed up on any of the artist, author, or beta reader pages will be listed as a member. If you are not on any of those pages, you will be removed (but watching/friending is always welcome for any public entries to be made).

Sorry for the inconvenience but this is for the privacy discussions of stories amongst the participants so that details do not get 'leaked'. We want everyone's works to be a surprise for friends and followers.

Sign ups for writers close tonight. I am presently having computer issues and hope to have a new laptop or netbook next week (I get paid on Thursday! Yay!).

So until I get solid access to confirm sign up replies (and withdrawals) I am hoping everyone knows what they are doing. If you had not received an email at some point from hc-bigbang@writeme.com then please send a quick email to me there so that I can easily add your address to the book quicker.

Greetings writers! How is everyone doing? Just dropping a message to remind followers that sign ups close in just over 2 weeks (November 30th). There are a number of promotion banners/code available to choose from to help spread the word. So, go forth and try to get us more participants! I will begin to put together the official list of members that signed up once we shift into the next phase. On or about December 1st, the community will become members only to share news and discussions as writing for the big bang continues.

Remember we still need artists and betas alike as well. If you do beta work or know someone who does, send them our way!

Wow! I know I have sign ups open for A LONG time but just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for their interest! As sign ups go on through October and November, everyone is more than welcome to start working on their story. Also, I have begun to add the emails indicated to the challenge's e-mail account. If you haven't done so already, please add hc-bigbang@writeme.com (with the hyphen) to your address book to avoid messages being diverted to the spam folder.

I ask that if you have any questions, to please forward them to that e-mail as questions/comments that arrive through my personal email for LJ notifications tend to fail (anyone want to make goat stew out of Frank like I do?).

Another note: The FAQ post has been updated to reflect some questions already submitted. It will be updated every so often when questions that come in couple be included that others are certainly possibly thinking of.

So far we have 45+ people signed up as authors and several more between artists and beta readers. This is only being open for a couple days! WOW! I ♥ you all!
